introduction to system leadership

gain a new perspective on how to participate and contribute to systems leadership for the systems that you care about

in this workshop we will introduce the the foundations of systems leadership through our systems leadership framework and practice approach. in this way offering you a new perspective on how to understand systemic change, and your role and contribution to the process.

as practitioners for change, one of the single greatest things we can do is to better understand and enact our unique contributions to the systems that we care about. for many of us, what our role and contribution are, can and should be,  is not always clear to us.  particularly when we move between jobs, projects, geographies, or simply because we are embedded in fast moving, adapting and even chaotic situations.  this can be disorienting and disheartening when we care about making things a little bit better around us.

our approach to systems leadership is holistic, deeply personal, and incredibly connected and interwoven with all the parts that make up a system.  in this way we will explore systems leadership from multiple levels and ways of engaging, as well as across time, and take time to explore and unpack systems leadership capabilities such as self orienting and sensing contexts and systemic needs.

specifically the workshop will introduce and engage participants with:

  • the systems leadership framework
  • roles for systems leadership
  • tools to: align yourself with systems leadership skills and traits, consider contextual needs and opportunities for systems leadership, identify systems roles across levels
outcomes

  • connections with other systems leaders

we recognize the historical and ongoing harm of colonization and take up the responsibility to contribute to processes of reconciliation and reparations and to listening and integrating lessons from truth telling.
